Sponsorship from Carrington for the second year running
Carrington, one of Europe’s largest workwear manufacturers, is delighted to be sponsoring Backwell Flax Bourton Cricket Club for the second year running. An ECB, Clubmark approved village cricket club, just outside of Bristol, Backwell Flax Bourton is run by its members for its members, providing cricket for all ages.
The Club already has several adult teams but was keen to grow its youth set-up by getting local children interested in sport and cricket. Backwell Flax Bourton Cricket Club has a strong community ethos and, through reaching out to new and existing members, started the year with more than 100 children signed up to its youth teams.
Sponsorship from Carrington is allowing the club to continue to invest in its facilities and update vital equipment including bats, bowling machines and the club house itself.
‘‘It’s so important that we keep investing in equipment to deliver the best experience to our members – whether they’ve been playing cricket for 30 years, or are just starting out,’’ said Matt Joyce, club treasurer at Backwell Flax Bourton Cricket Club. ‘‘Carrington’s backing is a vital aspect in ensuring we can deliver on that and we’re thrilled that they’ll be supporting us once again.’’
Charles Wilson, sales manager at Carrington said: ‘‘We’re really pleased to be sponsoring Backwell Flax Bourton Cricket Club again. They have a fantastic spirit and share our ethos of investing in the next generation. They are brilliant at getting out and about in the community, encouraging children, families and people of all ages to get involved.’’
In its current guise, Backwell Flax Bourton was formed in 2001, but community cricket has been played at the Club’s site for over 135 years.
