Carrington Workwear back Chorley Youth Zone as support warms up
Young people throughout the Chorley area are about to discover an exciting new dimension to life, thanks to the ‘Inspire’ project. That’s the name the youngsters themselves chose for the Chorley Youth Zone facility due to open next year on Railway Street.
It’s a purpose-built facility where they can find more challenges, more opportunities to meet and socialise, and more ways to develop their skills and talents. Including a full range of activities from sports and arts, to music, drama and employability workshops.
It’s based on the successful OnSide Youth Zones 21st Century Youth Facility Model, and for an annual membership of £5 and just 50p per visit will provide a safe environment where young people can enjoy themselves and raise their aspirations and confidence to create a happier and healthier generation.
The future has always been our focus at Carrington Workwear so we’re proud to get behind this innovative idea. Especially as we’re based here in Lancashire, the traditional heartland of the textiles industry.
In fact, we’re the largest producer of workwear fabrics in the UK, and we’re proud to play our part in supporting ‘Inspire’ by signing up as a Founder Patron.
Here’s what Sales Director Neil Davey had to say:
“Having visited the Youth Zone in Wigan, we are convinced of the worthiness of this project. It is clear to see the positive impact these centres have on young people, creating a healthier, happier more work ready lifestyle. We see it as fantastic opportunity to give something back to the community.”
And welcoming Carrington’s commitment, Chorley Youth Zone Chief Executive Janine Blythe commented:
“Carrington Workwear is a truly worldwide company and we are delighted they have backed Chorley’s young people, not only as a Founder Patron, but supported the construction costs of the Youth Zone too. Their endorsement will make a huge difference to the project and the lives of thousands of young people and we hope even more support will soon follow.”
