This month we are dedicating our Garment of the Month piece to the new increasingly popular antiviral workwear trend that started as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic the world has been facing for months now.
It was hard to imagine at the beginning of 2020 that a teacher at a school or waiting staff at a restaurant will be in need of PPE to be able do their jobs and protect themselves and others from the new virus.
A few months into the coronavirus pandemic this is now a reality, and with studies confirming the new coronavirus still being viable in fabrics even after 24 hours, the already existent antiviral solutions for textiles have become extremely popular as employers from every industry look for ways to give their staff an extra layer of protection and help prevent the spread of the disease.
At Carrington Textiles we are proud to be part of the solution and have launched to market a chemical antiviral barrier for workwear textiles that even though has been in the market for a long time, has now been tested to prove its efficiency.
We are talking about our new Antiviral Finish for workwear fabrics by Carrington Textiles, a product that has been independently tested under the ISO 18184:2019 standard with results showing over 99% of efficiency against viruses in 2 hours and over 98% after 50 washes at 60°C.
Its excellent launderability properties are the best found in the market currently, meaning the wearer will be protected with a sustainable garment that can be used wash after wash, helping lower the amount of textile waste that goes to landfill. This product is also Oeko-Tex and Bluesign approved as well as being EPA registered.
This outstanding finish can be applied to any fabric on our Workwear, Flame Retardant and Defence ranges. It’s also safe to use on face coverings, medical wear, hospitality and retails uniforms, so workers in virtually any industry can have that extra layer of protection that will help prevent cross-contamination at work.
Extra benefits include antibacterial protection, anti-odour, no impact on handle and can be used on all colours and shades.
